JLR Key Replacement
A Jaguar or Land Rover key replacement is needed when a key is lost, stolen, damaged or no longer functioning correctly. Unlike cutting a basic blade key, JLR replacement keys must be paired to the vehicle's immobiliser system — either the KVM (Key Vehicle Module) on models from 2012 onwards, the BCM (Body Control Module) on older models, or the advanced post-2018 architecture with UWB (Ultra-Wideband) keyless technology on newer Range Rovers, Defenders and Discovery 5s.

Which Situation Applies to You?
JLR key replacement covers four distinct scenarios — lost, stolen, damaged and all-keys-lost. Each requires a different approach.
The most common key replacement scenario. Whether lost on holiday, at work or at home — JLR Key attends at your location and programmes a new OEM key to the vehicle. If at least one working key remains, the replacement is programmed alongside it using the most efficient key-learn sequence.
A stolen key is a security emergency. The vehicle's key code should be erased from the immobiliser and a new key programmed as soon as possible to prevent the stolen key being used to access or start the vehicle. JLR Key attends same-day and performs a full key delete and re-programme.
Keys can fail from water damage, physical impact, internal transponder failure or worn circuitry. If the key fob shell and buttons are intact but the key is not communicating with the vehicle, it may need a full replacement rather than a repair. Diagnosed on-site — fob repair is attempted first where viable.
No working key remains at all. This is the most complex scenario and requires specialist all-keys-lost programming procedures. JLR Key is fully equipped for all-keys-lost recovery across all JLR models — without the unnecessary KVM module replacement that dealers often quote.
